IMA welcomes the community to our fourth annual “IMA Islands Artists’ Registry”—an exhibition of artworks by more than 70 Artists’ Registry members from San Juan County!

This is a joyous affair, with a riot of art and color displaying an amazing range of talent from across the islands. Look forward to the impressive diversity of talent with paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and encaustic, as well as pastels, photography, mixed media, pottery, sculpture, glass, wood, textiles, and jewelry by Artists’ Registry members.

This year’s show, organized around Tattered, Torn & Sepia features emerging and established artists expressing the beauty, identity, authenticity and connectedness of our community. These artists embrace our islands as a place of enduring discovery and their art as advocating for their own most spirited selves.

Yvonne Buijs-Mancuso, the creator of the Artists’ Registry says, “It has been a four-year journey to this—our biggest exhibition ever. The art is showcased in IMA’s new building on Spring Street. Having a beautiful new home for this show is a thrill for the artists, and a treat for museum visitors.”

Much of the artwork is for sale, to simplify your holiday shopping and assure continued enjoyment. And, this year IMA introduces the People’s Choice Award for various categories of art. Come and vote for your favorites!

IMA’s executive director, Ian Boyden, is enthusiastic when he says, “This show is a celebration of islands’ art. IMA is wholeheartedly committed to supporting the creativity, education, and exposure of our artists.  Introducing the entire community to the scope of artistic possibilities is an exciting part of our mission.”
