Artist Statement:
The process involved in creating this round painting is exciting for
me. Cutting the plywood disk, preparing the surface, applying the gypsum
compound, the gesso and finally the acrylic paint and sealer, (while the
disc is spinning) is truly a series of predictable AND unpredictable
events. This is my 39th painting using these techniques and I feel I am
just beginning to gain control of the sculptural aspects of the
process.
